England Won The 1st Test:

England v Australia 1st Ashes Test

After a long time England had won the 1st Ashes test  2013 by 14 runs.England had not won any opening match since 1997 in Ashes.Well the first test apart from being one of the most thrilling encounters was also fraught with controversies of the DRS(Decision Review System). Many decisions of the on-field umpire being overturned and some simple and straight forward decisions were made a mess.It ended when England challenged the original decision of Aleem Dar for not giving out to Brad Haddin after an appeal for caught behind. But Hot Spot technology indicated that Haddin had got a thin nick and as the on-field umpire Aleem Dar crossed his arms to signal a change of decision and raised his finger to give Haddin out, England along with bulk of a 17,000 capacity crowd ,started celebrating their first victory against Australia.

The key players in the Ashes were  James Anderson,Ian Bell from England and Aston Agar,Philip Hughes.
