Live Updates of the Final of DLF IPL 2010 Between Mumbai Indians Vs. Chennai Super Kings!

Big Moment, the finals of the DLF IPL 2010 is scheduled tonight between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings at DY Patil Stadium Mumbai. Mumbai Indians stand at the number position in the points table after winning 10 matches out of the 14 which they played, on the other hand Chennai Super Kings remain at the third position in the points tally. They won 7 matches out of the 14.

Mumbai Indians has the best team combination so far in the tournament, only concern with them tonight is the presence of the skipper Sachin Tendulkar for the match. Sachin has injured his fingers of the right hand in the semi finals. On the other hand Chennai Super Kings has the skipper Mahender Singh Dhoni who can change the path of the match any time with his decision. So tonight’s final is between the two great son of Indian Cricket, Sachin Tendulkar and Mahender Singh Dhoni, let’s see who can be able to hold the trophy.

So, we will have to wait and watch for tonight’s big final.

Weather Sachin Tendulkar is playing on tonight or not? The answer is not yet clear, but as far as his hands in concerned, it is not yet that much that he would join the match tonight. As per Sunil Gavaskar, he wont be able to wear the gloves properly, so seems impossible to bat tonight. Right now (at 6:40 PM) he is doing a bit of batting practice, does it mean that he is coming up in the match. The big question for tonight is weather he is playing or not, rather than which team can win the tournament?

So as according to Harbhajan Singh, Sachin knows the importance of the match and he is very much fit, so going for this match. Cool, great sign of relief for all - other than those who are supporting Chennai Super Kings, although they too are the fan of Sachin.

MS Dhoni, the skipper of the Chennai Super Kings Won the toss and  he has decided to Bat first. He want to set targets, Sachin is not unhappy with the toss loss, both the team batted first in the semi finals and won the match, so there might be a bit of pressure on the Mumbai Indians.

Live Score: Chennai Super Kings Win the DLF IPL 2010 by 22 Runs!

So Chennai Super Kings finally won the Indian Premier League 2010. Superb performance by the Dhoni and team. That’s all for the DLF IPL 2010.

Mumbai Indians (Target 169) 146/9 (20 Overs) Fernando 2*, Mallinga 1*, Zaheer 1, Pollard 27, Rayudu 21, Duminy 6, Tiwary 0, Sachin 48, Harbhajan 1, Nayar 27, Dhawan 0, Extras 12.

That’s all over for Mumbai Indians now, Pollard got out by Morkel, Hayden took the brilliant catch, and the credit goes to Dhoni who placed him at the position. And now MI need 27 runs in 6 balls.

What a tensed match it is. Rayudu became Run out in the 18.5 overs, MI are now 142 for 7 down.

Another blow to Mumbai Indians and this time it is Duminy who got dismissed by Muralidharan. MI are 114 for 6 in 17 overs. Can Pollard do something special for them? Jakati took the superb catch of Duminy.

Another blow by Jakati in the same over and this is the wicket of Tiwary. He got dismissed by the brilliant catch taken by Raina. MI are 100 for 5 down in 14.5 overs.

What a big blow Jakati gave to the Mumbai Indians, in the form of Sachin Tendulkar. Murali Vijay took his catch and MI are now 99 for 4 in 14.2 overs. His right hand was injured still he played a superb knock of 48 runs.

Big blow to the Mumbai Indians, Harbhajan Singh was dismissed LBW by Raina. MI are 73 for 3 in 12 overs.

Abhishek Nayar departs after providing the much needed momentum to the Mumbai Indians. After missing so many run out chances, this time CSK and Dhoni did no mistake to run him out. MI are 67 for the loss of two wickets in 11.2 overs. The reaction by Sachin Tendulkar is clearly saying the pressure, as we have never seen him reacting in such a manner. He put down his bat on the ground.

Big blow to Mumbai Indians, first over was a maiden by Ashwin and then Bollinger dismissed Dhawan. So Mumbai Indians are 1 down for the score of 1 runs at 1.4 overs. Pressure……

So 168 is what Chennai Super Kings made, and it is the highest team score in an IPL final. Raina and Dhoni were phenomenal in the batting, while Morkel too played brilliant. Till 12 overs Mumbai Indians were having an upper hand, but after that it was Chennai, Chennai and Chennai. Big question of the moment is Can Mumbai Indians be able to make 169 runs? With the right hand of Sachin Tendulkar injured it will be real tough for them and with the bowling attack of the Ashwin, Murali and Jakati, it is really difficult for them.

Chennai Super Kings 168/5 (20 Overs) Anirudha 6*, Raina 57*, Morkel 15, Dhoni 22, Badrinath 14, Hayden 17, Vijay 26, Extras 11.

Two dot balls on the last over brought pressure on Raina, it was the third ball of Mallinga in which Raina decided to take a run and Morkel got run out by Rayudu. CSK are 5 down by 157 runs and Raina is now at the non-striker end.

Zaheer Khan dismissed Dhoni, and CSK are 4 wicket down in 17.1 overs for 139.

So the third wicket goes down for the Chennai Super Kings, and it is the wicket of Badrinath taken by Fernando again, catch was taken by Mallinga. Brilliant performance by the Lankan duo.

Pollard did the magic for Mumbai Indians, big wicket, Mathew Hayden departs. CSK is now 47 for the loss of 2 wickets in 8.4 Overs.

That’s the end of the innings of the Murali Vijay, Dilharra Fernando got his wicket, Tiwary took the catch. CSK are now one wicket down for 44 at 7.2 Overs.

So Mumbai Indians gave only 40 runs in the power play, despite the fact that dangerous Mathew Hayden was batting. Though they wont be able to get any wicket, but it’s a good start for them.

First six of the finals, by Hayden to the ball of Harbhajan in 2.4th over.

Harbhajan Singh is starting the proceedings against CSK in the big final.

So now the last years finalist teams will play for the third place play-off, and the winner of this match will participate in the Champions League.

Deccan Chargers Won the Toss and Elected to Bat First!

Live Score: Royal Challengers Bangalore Win the Match by 9 Wickets and Make to the Champions League!

Royal Challengers Bangalore (Target 83) 86/1 (13.5 Overs) Dravid 35*, Pietersen 29*, Kallis 19, Extras 3.

So decision of batting first was a bad decision by Chargers, or they really did not played well, or they were disappointed by the loss in the semi finals. Today they made the lowest score of this year’s tournament, and they became all out for 82 runs only.

Deccan Chargers 82/10 (18.3 Overs) Harmeet 0*, Ojha 0, Harris 3, Rahul Sharma 0, Venugopal 24, Anirudh 40, Smith 5, Symonds 2, Rohit Sharma 0, Mishra 0, Gilchrist 4, Extras 4.

Live Updates of the Second Semi Finals of DLF IPL 2010 Between Deccan Chargers Vs. Chennai Super Kings!

So here we reached to the second semi finals of the DLF IPL 2010, and it is scheduled between Deccan Chargers and Chennai Super Kings. As we all know that Deccan Chargers are the defending champions, but they were written off by many cricket experts during the tournament, and still they came back, and win five consecutive matches to reach to the semi finals.

On the other hand Chennai Super Kings managed to reach to the finals of the DLF IPL 2008, but lost to Rajasthan Royals in the final, and again managed to reach to the semi finals of the DLF IPL 2009, but again lost to the Royal Challengers Bangalore. This year too there was a time when they were not in a picture of reaching to the semis, but it was the brilliant knock of skipper Mahender Singh Dhoni, against Kings XI Punjab, which cleared the path for them towards the semi final. And tonight Mahender Singh Dhoni will be looking ahead to reach to the finals of the DLF IPL 2010 and play against the Mumbai Indians.

Chennai Super Kings Won the toss and elected to Bat first. Mahender Singh Dhoni knows the importance of the big fellow Mathew Hayden, if he can click he can take away the match from the Gilchrist and team.

Live Score: Chennai Super Kings Win the Match by 38 Runs and qualify for the Finals of the DLF IPL 2010 with Mumbai Indians on 25th April 2010!

That’s all for the Defending Champions Deccan Chargers for the DLF IPL 2010. Surprising last years two finalist team lost in the semi finals, and this year Chennai Super Kings will play against Mumbai Indians in the finals of the DLF IPL 2010 on 25th April 2010. CSK will try to win the match and take revenge of the lost of the finals of the DLF IPL 2008.

Deccan Chargers (Target 143) 104/10 (19.2 Overs) RP Singh 0*, Ojha 1, Harmeet Singh 0, Sumanth 16, Harris 15, Symonds 23, Mishra 2, Gibbs 18, Rohit Sharma 2, Suman 4, Gilchrist 15, Extras 8.

Yet another mistake by the in form batsman Rohit Sharma, this time the bowler was Albie Morkel and Murali did no mistake to sent him back to the pavilion. Chargers are 3 down for 31 in 7.2 Overs.

Bollingers give yet another blow to the Chargers and that too in the same sixth over. Suman this time gave a superb chance to Suresh Raina to catch him out. Chargers are 2 down for the score of 23 runs in 5.5 overs.

Much needed break through for the Chennai Super Kings, and what a wicket it is, Gilchrist got out by Bollingers. So Chargers are struggling at the moment at 19 for the loss of 1 wicket at 5.1 Overs.

So 143 is what all about Deccan Chargers will need to face Mumbai Indians on the Sunday’s big final. It was the poor performance by the Chennai Super Kings in the batting which brought Chargers into the strong position. Looking the batting line ups of the Chargers 143 does not seems that much bigger target, though as the batting line up of Dhoni and team failed, so nothing can be said strongly for the chargers too.

Chennai Super Kings 142/7 (20 Overs) Ashwin 6* Jakati 0*, Anirudha 24, Badrinath 37, Morkel 4, Dhoni 30, Raina 2, Vijay 15, Hayden 8, Extras 16.

Big blow for the Chennai Super Kings, and this time it was Symonds who dismissed Suresh Raina, the in form batsman. CSK are 29/3 in only 4.5 overs.

Poor fielding by Sumanth once again, it was the 3.4th over and he dropped the catch of Raina. Second time tonight he missed the catch at gully.

Another wicket fall of the Chennai Super Kings, and the wicket was taken by Harris only. Two consecutive wickets for Harris in two consecutive balls, he dismissed Murali Vijay Leg Before Wicket in the 3.1st over. Harris is on a hat-trick chance, but missed.

Two dropped chances for Hayden, but not for the third time, it was his own ex-teammate, Andrew Symonds who took his catch in the last ball of the second over. Harris dismissed Hayden, big relief for Sumanth and RP Singh.

Another catch dropped by Sumanth, of the same big fellow Hayden. It was the second ball of the second over, don’t know how much these catches will cost Chargers.

What a superb catch dropped by RP Singh, the catch was of Mathew Hayden in the fourth ball of the very first over. This over was bowled by Andrew Symonds. What a mess.

Live Updates of the First Semi Finals of DLF IPL 2010 Between Mumbai Indians Vs. Royal Challengers Bangalore!

So here we goes with the first semi final of the DLF IPL 2010, and it is between the Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore. I am a bit surprised to see that RCB and Deccan Chargers, the finalist of the last year’s IPL is again in the semi finals, and these are chances that they two can be in the finals too. Well nothing can be said at this moment though, it is Sachin Tendulkar who is leading his team Mumbai Indians from the front and happy to bring the team to the semis. He would be pleased to reach to the finals of the IPL 2010 in front of the crowd from his own town.

Earlier this match was scheduled at Bangalore, but due to some bomb blast of small intensity, IPL organising commitee, does not take risk and shifted the venue to the DY Patil stadium at Mumbai.

Mumbai Indians won the toss and elected to bat first. Sachin Tendulkar does not want to give any chance to the RCB.

Live Score: Mumbai Indians Win the Match by 35 Runs, and Reached to the Finals of the DLF IPL 2010.

That’s the end of the campaign of the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the third version of the DLF IPL. What a poor performance by RCB in the semi finals. Almost it becomes one sided affair and Mumbai Indians outplayed them in all the departments of the game. Rose Taylore become the highest scorer for them. Thus Mumbai Indians are in the finals of the DLF IPL 2010.

Royal Challengers Bangalore (Target 185) 149/9 (20 Overs) Taylor 31*, Kumble 1*, Steyn 5, R Vinay Kumar 8, Praveen Kumar 1, Pandey 5, Kohli 9, Dravid 23, Uthappa 26, Pietersen 19, Kallis 11, Extras 10.

So batting first Mumbai Indians made 184 runs for the loss of 5 wickets. It happened for the first time in this IPL tournament that Sachin Tendulkar got out for one digit score. After he fell it was Dhawan who too fell cheaply, and then it was Abhishek Nayar and Rayudu who steered the innings brilliantly. At the end it was Saurav Tiwary, who is more like the clone of Mahender Singh Dhoni, and Pollard, who hit some brilliant shots and brought the innings score to 184. Pollard made 33 runs in only 13 balls, which includes one four and 3 six. While Tiwary who made 52 runs in 31 balls, hit 3 fours and 4 six. Rayudu made 40 runs in 38 balls, while Nayar made 22 runs in 18 balls.

Mumbai Indians 184/5 (20 Overs) Pollard 33*, Tiwary 52*, Rayudu 40, Duminy 3, Nayar 22, Dhawan 12, Sachin 9, Extras 13.

Not only a great win, but also the place for the semi finals. Last years defending champions win 5 consecutive matches and thus reached to the semis. Superb. Collingwood played a brilliant knock of 51 runs, but all goes into vein, and Delhi is now out of the tournament.
